1. (Research):Joseph's death certificate has the surname Blackner. However, the date is 4 days before the funeral of Joseph and his age at 80 (1783-84) years ties in with his christening if not yet his birth. Quite what he was doing in a work house needs further investigation, especially as his wife Elizabeth was still alive. Joseph Blacknell's recorded age in 1841 census was 60. However, with the 5 years rounding down rule this could mean 1775-1781. Other entries on that page however, show ages like 24,58, 31 - so it might be the recorder didn't follow the 1841 census rules. So aged exactly 60 would mean he was born 1780-1781. If he was indeed born 1780 then he would have been 84 at death, not 80, if this certificate is for the same Joseph. Joseph Blackner Joseph Blacknell Joseph's age in 1851 census recorded as 57 (1793-94); [Note Record]
