1. Jim Hughes left Iola the sum of 1 shilling in his will. Will was written a long time before his death (at time of separation from Gladys). Hence the amount appears even more rediculous. Iola never received her shilling and wouldn't have wanted it.; [Note Record]

3. St. Mary's School (Church school) where Gladys and Ernest were pupils. When Iola first went there the headmaster showed her records of pupils and saw their names in the register. Records now in archives at Ruthin or Cardiff.
