On the hunt for Quorndon kennels

My great great grandfather, William Freer, was a kennel man in the Leicestershire village of Quorndon in the 1850’s.

He was born in Quorndon in 1830 and likely stayed there, until marrying, with his parents who, in 1841, were living in Barrow Gate (now Station Road).

Paws for thought

I’m Paul’s second cousin and we share Frederick Blacknell and Clara Freer as our great-grandparents. I took up family history research earlier this year and have been amazed at what there is out there to find.

Owen Ivor Owen making contact

My name is Owen Ivor Owen, born in Ruabon, Denbighshire – the son of Owen Thomas Owen and Sarah Ellen Davies. My father’s brother, Robert, married Ethel Blacknell whose father and brother, Ernest, used to visit us at our home in Ruabon.

There was also a Clara Davies (née Freer) who lived with her husband, Robert, and her father in Wynnstay Park in Ruabon.
